Susan K. Wolcott, Ph.D. is an educational consultant with WolcottLynch Associates and Thought Leader at CA School of Business. Her consulting practice takes her to conferences and campuses around the world where she works with faculty to support critical thinking development, competency assessment, and curriculum innovation. She is coauthor of a textbook, published by John Wiley & Sons, which focuses specifically on the development of critical thinking in the context of cost accounting.

Additional publications include articles in Assessment Update and Issues in Accounting Education, and a chapter on critical thinking assessment in Assessment of Student Learning in Business Schools: Best Practices Each Step of the Way published by AACSB International and Association for Institutional Research. Susan is associate editor of critical thinking for Issues in Accounting Education and is a part-time professor at Instituto de Empresa in Madrid and Helsinki School of Economics—Mikkeli. She previously taught at University of Washington, University of Denver, and the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Before launching her academic career, she worked in public accounting for ten years. She holds Ph.D. and MS degrees in Accounting and Information Systems from Northwestern University and a BBA in accounting from University of Portland. She is also a CPA and CMA.
