We really feel like the use of IDEA has evolved into so much more than the original purpose of faculty feedback and evaluation. It wasn’t until we sent a few faculty to a users meeting that we even thought to use it to improve student learning. It wasn’t until we had an IDEA workshop on campus that we even started looking at the group summary reports. We now have teams based on their key IDEA learning outcomes, which are tied to general education assessment. In department meetings, faculty discuss one IDEA resource that they are using to improve. Future plans are to use it to assess our Education Citizen outcomes across the curriculum and build it into our graduate surveys.
